PMC Becomes Largest Municipality In Maharashtra

The Maharashtra State government has issued a final notification to include 23 more villages under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) jurisdiction on Wednesday. After a long delay, the 23 villages have finally been incorporated into the civic body making PMC the largest municipality in the state.

A significant hike in the property tax with no better civic amenities remains a prime cause for concern among residents of 23 villages that have been merged in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits.

Pune: No need to do separate Police Verification of Tenants

More than 70,000 tenants who registered their leave and licence documents with the property registration department were exempt from visiting police stations after the verification process went online in September 2019.

Rent Agreements To Be Registered Within 3 Days

Deputy Inspector General of Registration Himmat Kharade has directed to register the rent agreement (leave and license) within two to three days after receiving the documents. Meanwhile, instructions have been given to keep the registration offices open even on weekends if the number of tenants who come for registration is high.

Police Verification to be done for only Registered Rent Agreements

The Registration Departartment has told Police to verify the registered Leave and License Agreement only and not Notarized Agreement. The Notarized documents on stamp paper will not be verified by Police officials to ensure that all deeds are registered and the documentation comes under Government purview.

A very important aspect which should be clearly mentioned is the Use of Licensed Premises. If it’s indented for residential use then it should be used for the sole purpose and if for commercial use then for sole purpose only without any use for illegal activities.
